Asking for Clarification in a Team Meeting

Asking for Clarification in a Team Meeting

在团队会议中请求澄清

  1. When Sarah mentioned ‘Q3 deliverables’ without defining them, I raised my hand and said, 'Could you clarify what those include?'
  2. She paused, smiled, and listed three items—two reports and one client demo—while checking if I’d missed anything.
  3. Later, James misheard ‘budget cap’ as ‘budget gap’, so he asked, 'Do you mean we can’t spend more than $5,000?'
  4. Our manager nodded and added, 'Exactly—and that includes travel and software fees.'
  5. I followed up with, 'So if the demo tool costs $600, we’ll need to cut elsewhere?' and got a quick yes.
  6. No one laughed or rushed past the question; instead, someone shared a shared doc where all terms were defined.
  7. We now start each meeting with a two-minute ‘term check’ for acronyms like KPI or SLA.
  8. It’s not about knowing everything—it’s about making sure everyone starts from the same point.
