The first class on Tuesday is science. Lin Hao sits near the window with his deskmate, Chen Yu. The teacher writes a long question on the blackboard, and the room becomes quiet. Lin Hao reads it twice, but he still does not understand the last part.
星期二的第一节是科学课。 林浩坐在靠窗的位置，同桌是陈宇。 老师在黑板上写了一道很长的题，教室安静下来。 林浩读了两遍，最后一部分还是不太明白。
He does not want to guess, because guessing often makes a bigger mistake. So he turns to Chen Yu and asks in a low voice, "Can you help me, please?" Chen Yu smiles and points to a picture in the book. "Look here. The plant needs water and sunlight," he says.
他不想瞎猜，因为乱猜常常错得更厉害。 于是他转向陈宇，小声问：“你能帮我一下吗？” 陈宇笑了笑，指着书上的一幅图。 他说：“看这儿。植物需要水和阳光。”
Lin Hao looks again and now the question seems easier. He writes the answer slowly and checks the spelling. When the teacher walks past, she nods. Asking for help is not a weak thing. It is a brave and useful thing in class.
林浩再看一遍，题目好像简单了一些。 他慢慢写下答案，又检查了拼写。 老师走过时点了点头。 开口求助不是示弱。在课堂上，这是勇敢而且有用的事。
After class Chen Yu says, "If you don't understand, just ask." Lin Hao answers, "Thanks. Next time I can help you, too." They both laugh and put their books away. A good deskmate makes a long morning feel shorter.
下课后陈宇说：“不懂就问就好。” 林浩回答：“谢谢。下次我也可以帮你。” 两人都笑了，把书收好。 有个好同桌，漫长的上午也会觉得短一些。
